We formed Hope 4 More to use our own lived experience to support young people and their families.
Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance affected our families, so we understand the struggle, stress, and heartache they can cause.
By year 1, having had a bad experience in school, my child was already suffering emotionally based school avoidance. A school move in year 4 helped for a short while, but by year 6 I had to make the decision to educate him at home.
I gave up my career, attended numerous meetings and appointments with a lot of different agencies.
8 years after the first GP referral I got a diagnosis for my child and then EHCP; but are still waiting for a suitable provision.
I am passionate about helping young people and their parents who find themselves in a similar situation.
I am a qualified, person-centred counsellor, experienced in working with young people.
Following my own daughters struggle with emotionally based school avoidance, the impact on her mental health and the overall impact on our whole family, I am keen to help other young people falling through the gaps as well as their parents who feel helpless.
We focus on providing support for children suffering with anxiety and other mental health issues through art projects.
We help them to access education and reach their potential. We also offer support and advice for their families.
